Wednesday FILMING

We filmed the first part of our music video on Wednesday. We started at 10 in the morning when there were the least amount of people about in town. As we could do without the distractions of constantly being asked for our picture taken. As it was just two of us that day we only filmed the individual sections of the video, where it's solo dancing and some cutaways. We still need to film dancing together and the animation part of the video. We need another member of the group to do the filming for us.

animatic feedback

There are good ideas here but it is too vague at the moment and lacks pace. The timeline exercise next week should help you a lot to fill the gaps and get more of a sense of pace.

FEEDBACK!

The beginning to our video has been said to be the best part so far, people would like to see more of the signs being held, by random people and also the characters. these are good ideas which we will try and include in the final piece. It has been said that it is a bit slow with the music but we will speed it up once we start to film with the track. The bike shots are said to be potentially hard to film but sure this will be overcome once filming starts. Also that some scenes seem abit static and unclear but will be made obvious one filmed.

Ross

The anamatic shows our ideas so far for our music video, it starts off with someone placing a vinyl on to a player and two boys liking the song and getting an idea, the next shot is of the two boys on a tandam bike riding through the centre of town, the main objective of the piece is for the two boys to try and get people to "feel the music" in the same way they do, i.e the use of the title of the song "Do you feel it too?". The scenes then progress to show the use of the characters dancing to the music and animation of the songs title in a whacky and abstract way. this comes from the inspiration of previous "Go! Team" songs.

animatics

After gathering our ideas and drawing an animatic storyboard in pencil, we confirmed our ideas by going over them in pen. We then captured the photos and made an anamatic of our ideas for the song. This is only a rough cut as we did not have enough time to look at all of the different angles and movements for each shot.

Storyboards

In our 4th lesson we have to design some story boards for the different shots that we are going to produce in our music video. We have had some new ideas for beginning shots, such as Ross's grandad putting a vinyl onto a set of decks and beginning the song, this is where the camera pans round to see me and Ross sitting in our chairs and we then wake up, feel the music and get up and then begin dancing down the street. We then somewhere get a tandem bike and ride dwon the road towards the camera, which is stationary, and then we turn off and there is a sign that says 'Do You Feel It Too'.
We also have the idea of using the Go Team's idea of using animation in the video by filming letters, of the words 'Do You Feel It Too?' and 'The Go Team' we think this is quite effectful and carries on the theme of anmation, as it's in all of their videos that we have seen. We then go to different locations in cambridge, such as Kings College and do some banana-rama dancing, and some other random locations, all the tme there will be animations and cut-aways spliting up the action and making it more varied. We have drawn all these ideas onto our story board in pencil and once we have confirmed these as our actualy idea then we will go over them in pen and take pictures of them.

PICTURES AND VIDEO

Here are some pictures and video of the band doing what they do best!

This Video is a good example of how abstract and out of the box we can make our video, it has also given us some good inspiration for techniques!

We saw this video by the Go Team and decided to incorporate the technique of the animations of words, such as 'Do You Feel it Too' and 'the Go team' we thought this was a good idea and we are keeping their ideas.

our pitch

In our music video, we plan to incorporate techniques that will make the video look professional. We are going to use, long shots to get all of the characters in during the dancing scenes. At the begining we were thinking of putting a vinyl onto a set of decks and starting it playing. This signals the start of the song and we were going to remove the vinyls at the end of the song to signal the finish of the track. We have several ideas for cutaways and sequences, one being two of us in our costumes (spiderman and a giant banana) riding a tandem bike and waving. We area also planning some good locations to do some funky dancing in, such as on a boat, colleges, and other locations in Cambridge.

INFLUENCES!!!

When looking for inspiration for our music video we looked in a few different areas and also at different genres. We found a video done by a Dj called DJ Format, the song to this video is called "We Know Something You Don't Know "

We like the use of costumes and outrageous dancing in this video and thought that we may be able to conincide these ideas with our own.

Teacher comments

so what is the plan? We need a pitch on here plus why not include shots of the band and other videos by them etc to give a sense of your ideas ?

messaging

We messaged the band, the 'Go Team' from MySpace and told them of our ideas and what we plan to do in our music video.
